Martin the Warrior - Brian Jacques Although well-written, the book for me lacked the urgency and flow of the original Redwall. There were too many characters introduced along the way, only to appear again in the final battle while being unheard from for 100+ pages. I understand what the author did, I just didn't like it. I also did not care for the alternating chapters which followed two groups of travelers - in my opinion it made the storyline fragmented. Having now read three books in the Redwall series, the original remains my favorite.
